Back to Spin!

I am still alive and almost back on track! I managed to make it through 3 spinning classes last week and it felt good! The ghost pain in my side still comes and goes. After researching on-line, I've read instances where people have had similar pain years after surgery. Maybe my body wasn't ready to let go of my appendix!! ;-)

I am starting to fill up my fitness calendar with runs and other events. It makes it exciting to look forward to in the fall!

Pain, Pain, Go Away!

Just when I wanted to get back to a semi-normal routine; I now have a nagging pain in the general area of my appendectomy. I feels like one of those runner's cramps you get in your side that won't go away. Debating whether to call the doctor or not, I'll ride it out today and see if it goes away. Grrr!

Trying to Get Back Into the Swing of Things

It has been a BIG challenge to get myself back into the groove post-appendicitis! My surgeon said it would be essentially 6 weeks to get back to "normal". Over the weekend I worked on the garage a bit; reorganizing some stuff and got ready for a expo I have this weekend coming up. I felt good during the cleaning up, but then after I was done, I could feel it in my side. So now I see where he said that I can do "normal" things, but I'm going to feel it afterwards.

I've been watching what I eat, as usual; but I am craving carbs like crazy. I am thinking it's my body trying to get what it missed over that time in the hospital. Definitely something I have to be aware of and work through.

Tonight I'm watching Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition (guilty pleasure). It's always great to see such an inspirational story. It makes my 75 pound goal just a drop in the bucket compared to what this guy lost. He dedicated a year to lose 313 pounds, wow! I can do this!!
